Dear Students and Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about The Giving Tree program at Shanghai American School this holiday season. The program is sponsored by the middle school Community Service group and all classes PK-12 are participating in this wonderful event.
The Giving Tree program allows our advisory class to sponsor two migrant children in our community over the holiday season. We are sponsoring one 8 year old boy and one 7 year old girl. We have been given two separate bags to fill so that we can donate them to these children before we break for winter vacation. We may include shoes, coats, clothes, toys, etc and the only stipulation is that everything be NEW!
The Giving Tree program is the perfect way to give back to give back to our local community. Please take the time to give something to the children we are sponsoring. The smiles that you could bring to their faces and the warmth you could bring to their hearts is priceless.
