I love meeting new and returning parents at Open House!

The first year moving to a new place is always interesting and feels a bit “odd” because you look around a room and you don’t recognize familiar faces. I am always aware of that because my first year experiences seem to stay with me and affect me for a long time. Was the experience positive, negative, scary, funny? I must admit that I was thankful to look around the room and see parents that I’ve known for the past couple of years. Many of these parents entrusted their children to me and I hope that I made a positive impact on their lives. At the same time, I hope that I gave all of our new parents a positive connection that they can hold onto and put in their first memories box. First impressions are everything!

The 8th grade team made its own handbook this year for parents. In actuality, we started working on this handbook last Apirl so it was nice to finally pull all of the pieces together that we had created over the past five months. I’ve attached that handbook below along with the PowerPoint presentation (it is also on Edline if you can’t access them from this site) our team shared with everybody. If you were unable to make it, this should give you some insights about what to expect for the school year. Of course, nothing replaces a face-to-face conversation, but we understand that is not always possible. We do, however, look forward to meeting you at some point soon!
