I started Podcasting about a year ago and it is more exciting than blogging. I love podcasting maybe because i love music so much and radio programs when i was still a kid.

This use of recording equipment, the iPod in particular, seems like a great way to get students invested in documenting their experience at an event, in this case a museum. I have also started to realize as I work on podcasts myself that the skill necessary to synthesize the raw data and reformulate it into a coherent piece, seems very similar to the essay writing process.

This project seems like a great first step to something great. A few years ago, I read article about people using iPods at museums that I found relevant to your post:

Imagine having kids view an exhibit, go back to the classroom think of the experience they want to create for other students, create a podcast, exchange it with their peers, then go back and view the show listening what their peers felt as they viewed the same work. Talk about opening minds to other peoples’ perceptives.
